This November, I’m offering a series of special donation-based classes at my studio to support both self-care and community care. These classes are open to all, and proceeds will benefit three wonderful local organizations: The Arc of New River Valley, The YMCA at Virginia Tech, and Micah’s Backpack.

Dance Playground
When: Sunday, November 2, 4 - 5 pm
Where: Inner Awareness, 657 Coal Hollow Rd., Christiansburg, VA
Cost: Donation based
Suggested donation: $10–$25 per class, but all are welcome, regardless of ability to pay.
Fundraiser for The Arc of New River Valley
The Arc is a volunteer-driven nonprofit advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in the New River Valley.
Do you remember how it felt to move as a child—playful, free, and without self-judgment? This class invites you to reconnect with that innate joy of movement and feel more fully alive in your body. You’ll be gently guided through simple movement explorations and basic sequences inspired by a variety of dance styles. Then, you're free to explore your own dance—no right or wrong, just your expression. Come move, release tension, feel connected, and most of all—have FUN!

Saidi Rhythm Exploration: A Frame Drum and Dance Playshop
When: Saturday, November 8
Frame Drum Class: 10 - 11 am
Saidi Dance Class: 11:15 am –12:15 pm

The YMCA serves our community through education, after-school programs, tutoring, international services, and more.
A joyful two-part playshop focused on the traditional Saidi rhythm from southern Egypt.
In the frame drum session, we’ll cover lap-style basics and rhythm variations.
In the dance session, we’ll embody the rhythm through simple, folk-inspired movement.
Attend one or both sessions—no experience needed!

A deeply nourishing class that begins with gentle movement and self-massage to release tension. Then, you'll be guided into yoga nidra, a meditative rest practice that helps restore body, heart, and mind.
