Be Kind to Your Spine

This offering is a yoga class for those wishing to promote optimal back health. We will work on building core stability, improving posture & balance, increasing flexibility, connecting to breath to better support us physically and energetically, and inviting ease & grace into our experience as we mindfully (and heartfully) move towards a more centered body & mind. This is a mat class that will have on the floor and standing explorations. Adaptations will be offered for those who find positions on hands and knees uncomfortable.
The class, in a live format, will be streamed Thursdays 10:30 – 11:30 am via Zoom. The class will be recorded. This will allow individuals to have access to the class even if they cannot attend live. This recorded class will be available to watch by streaming and/or by downloading directly to one’s computer so that it can be watched offline. Anyone who registers for the class will have access to all these options. Once you register for the class, you will be given a link and password to join the 6-week class series.
Cost: 4 wk. session $60 ($15/class) / 6 wk. session $90 ($15/class)

This yoga class is designed to support greater awareness, self-compassion, body-mind strength, and inner steadiness & ease. As everyone is in a unique place in their journey, to support this reality, a variety of variations will be offered to appropriately challenge each person's balance, agility, strength and flexibility so as to help improve one's resiliency in body, mind, and spirit.
In this class, movements and pose options will include the following positions: standing, hands and knees (a chair option will be offered if being on hands and knees is not an option in your body at this time), and lying down on the floor on your belly, sides, and back.
We ask that you bring your own mat and any props you may need - blocks, blankets, pillows, straps, etc. if you have them. If you do not have props, props can be made available to you at the studio.

Weaving Brain Longevity Yoga & Mindfulness Practices to Help You Be Kind to Your Body-Mind

This class offers a gentle approach to movement and mindfulness. Participants will be encouraged to explore the practices deeply respecting and honoring any injuries or limitations they may be currently navigating while cultivating an improved sense of body awareness. As everyone is in a unique place in their journeys, a variety of variations and adaptations will be offered to appropriately challenge each person's balance, agility, strength and flexibility so as to help improve one's resiliency in body, mind, and spirit.
Students will gain practical tools from both neuroscience and contemplative / wisdom tradition practices that one can start implementing into their everyday activities to feel better in body, manage their energy levels, and maximize the health and function of one’s brain. No prior yoga and mindfulness experience necessary.
In this class, movements will be in a chair and standing.
Anything done standing will also have a seated option provided.
We will not be transitioning to the floor.
This class will be facilitated by Jennifer Speiden who is a certified yoga therapist, registered yoga teacher, Certified Brain Longevity Specialist through the Alzheimer’s Research & Prevention Foundation, and has a MS in Physical Therapy.

This yoga class builds on the Yoga for Well-Being class adding some more options to help individuals build resilience in body and mind. It is for students who have had yoga experience and who can easily get up and down from the floor. Participants are still encouraged to explore the poses in a way that truly listens to their bodies while developing a playful, curious approach to moving between ease and challenging oneself to help build resilience.
In this class, movements and pose options will include the following positions: standing, hands and knees, kneeling, and lying down on the floor on your belly, sides, and back.
We ask that you bring your own mat and any props you may need - blocks, blankets, pillows, straps, etc. if you have them. If you do not have props, props can be made available to you at the studio.
Cost: 4 wk. session $60 ($15/class) / 6 wk. session $90 ($15/class)
